Service Learning

Today was our day for service learning. For that we volunteered at and orphanage. We were divided into 4 groups; One group was painting part of the play set, some were painting classrooms, some were playing with the younger kids, and the others were doing some yard work. We all loved it! The kids were so sweet. They immediately came up to us and hugged us. I started by painting the play set, then moved on to painting classrooms and finally played with the younger kids. We made a makeshift basketball hoop with a hoola-hoop. I would hold the hoola-hoop high up and the little kid, Juan, would try and throw the beach ball through. He was so sweet!

After the service learning we had some time to explore some more. A few of us went back to Pizza Oliva and chatted with the owner. We also wanted to bring a few other who had never been.

The owner, Fransisco, recommended we try this coffee shop in San Jose. It was raining and a little cold but we could not pass up exploring more of San Jose.

But our adventures didn't stop there! We went to a vintage store called Extrañame. We made some cute purchases there. We finally went home after such a long day! Demi and I gave our mama tica her presents. She loved them!
