Today most of us had to be up by 5 to go horseback riding. I am very afraid of heights and very afraid of horses. I knew this was going to be a once in a life time chance, and I would not want to regret this opportunity so I decided to go. We didn't get much information except that we should wear our swimsuits under our clothes because we were horseback riding up to La Fortuna waterfall.

The horses took us up to the waterfall and from there we had to climb various flights of stairs to get to the bottom of the waterfall

I really enjoyed horseback riding actually. It was very hard to get the hang of it at first, and we all had difficulties which made us all feel better about it. Our horses had to cross rivers and climb up very steep hills. My group joked with me that my horse and I were very similar because she had been stoping every few feet to eat the grass. We ended up having to climb 700 steps to get down to the waterfall. It was all very well worth it.

The waterfall was so beautiful. The water was also very cold, but well deserved since the day was very humid. My favorite was the ride back to the stable because I felt more comfortable riding the horse. It was very peaceful.

The ride back we had a beautiful view of Arenal volcano

After our horseback ride we had 30 minutes to have everything packed and checked out of the rooms. We started our ride back home to San Jose.
